About

Mari Bjerck is a design anthropologist, Associate Professor, and Programme Coordinator of the Master programmes in Interaction Design, and Design of Service, Technology and Interaction at NTNU. She is an experienced researcher with a particular interest in people, co-creation, and inclusive processes. Her preferred mode of research is fieldwork, where she studies the interplay between human and non-human actors in real-life contexts.

At NTNU’s Department of Design, Bjerck conducts research at the intersection of design and health. She is currently leading the development of a new, flexible, and interdisciplinary master’s programme in Design of Services, Technology and Interaction. She has also designed several courses at both bachelor’s and master’s levels, as well as tailored and open lifelong learning education modules in design.

Bjerck serves as a permanent expert jury member for service, systems, and interaction design for the DOGA Award for Design and Architecture.

She supervises bachelor’s and master’s theses, and currently supervises the following PhD candidates:

  • Anna Schytte Sigaard – Want not, Waste Not. A Practice-Theoretical Study of Textile Disposal in Everyday Life. PhD programme in Innovation for Sustainability, OsloMet (Co-supervisor).
