About Teaching

About

Shen Yin holds the position of DNV Endowed Professor within the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at NTNU. He obtained a Dr.-Ing. and an MSc. from the University of Duisburg-Essen, Germany. He currently serves as the Co-Editor-in-Chief of IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics.

 

Research interests: 

  • Fault diagnosis/prognosis and fault-tolerance strategy
  • System and control theory
  • Machine learning/data-driven aided optimization, diagnosis, and control 
  • Reliability, maintenance, safety, and security for technical process
  • Applications on cyber-physical systems, health diagnosis/medical technology, sustainable energy, etc.
