Research conducted within the Conceptual Structural Design Group (CSDG) focuses on computational methods for conceptual structural design, including parametric modelling, algorithm-aided design, structural optimisation, artificial intelligence, and digital fabrication. The group publishes its research results in international peer-reviewed journals and conferences in the fields of structural engineering, computational design, and digital architecture. Recent publications include journal articles in venues such as the International Journal of Architectural Computing, as well as conference papers presented at major international events including the World Conference on Timber Engineering, CAADRIA, eCAADe Conference, and meetings organised by the International Association for Bridge and Structural Engineering. These publications reflect the interdisciplinary nature of the group’s work, combining structural engineering, architecture, and computational design methods.
