Bioenergy & Bioimaging

– Martin F. Hohmann-Marriott

THIS INITIATIVE IS NO LONGER ACTIVE

The focus of the PhotoSynLab is to explore and engineer light harvesting, electron transport and physiology in photosynthetic organisms. Practical applications include the production of biofuels in the form of lipids and hydrogen, as well as the generation of biological solar cells. Our lab uses eukaryotic algae and cyanobacteria as model systems. These efforts interface with our interest in understanding the evolution of bioenergetic systems. In addition, we develop instrumentation and procudures for imaging and lab automation.
