About the course
Course content
The course comprises advanced topics within field of expertise for both building informatics and wood building technologies.
Topics can be future risks and possibilities (i.e. climate change etc), new building concepts (i.e circularity of timber structure), advanced and innovative solutions, systems and processes (i.e BIM based).
Learning outcome
After the course the students should:
- have an in-depth understanding for selected topics within the building informatics and wood building technologies.
- can choose and use appropriate methods for simulations or analysis of various important aspects such as project planning, CO2 emissions, etc.
- be able to read and analysis scientific articles, and thereby orientate themselves regarding the relevant scientific front.
Learning methods and activities
Lectures, seminars, guided self-study (literature and professional videos), report writing, individual work and/or in groups, and presentation in plenary.
If there are less than 6 students, it will be guided self-study.

Further on evaluation
The grades are set based on delivered project report. If failed, new report has to be delivered according to agreement with course coordinator.
To have access to the exam/project report delivery, two assignments shall be approved

Admission to a programme of study is required:
Building Informatics and Wood Constructions (MIBIT)
Recommended previous knowledge
Completed first semester mandatory course for master in building building informatics and wood building technologies.
