About the course
Course content
The bachelor thesis in psychology consists of a scientific investigation by project participation. Each project has a leader who will supervise the students connected to that project. A student can choose project from the ones that are offered at any time. The number and type of project will vary with the number of applicants to the course an who of the scientific emplyees that at any time offer project supervision. The studentes are encourage to work together, but each student must write his/her individual thesis.
The bachelor thesis should be about 15-25 pages long (5600-9300 words.)
Learning outcome
Knowledge:
The student has good knowledge of how to select literature related to a relevant issue in psychological research.
The student has good knowledge about how to structure, present and dicuss the psychological literature in a written work.
The student has good knowledge about how to prepare, conduct, analyse and report quantitative or qualitative data.
The student has good knowledge about how to collect, analyse and organize scientific literature.
The student has good knowledge on how to collect and evaluate scientific literature on the basis of a psychological problem.
Skills:
The student can reflect critically on issues in contemporary psychological research.
The student can do a literature search, acquaint the relevant literature and apply this to create a scientific reasoning.
The student can organize and plan own work within given deadlines and make use of guidance.
General competence:
The student has experience with conducting a scientific work, either by an empirial investigation or by writing a reviewpaper.
The student has good knowledge of professional ethical standards when it comes to data collection, analysis, presentation, and production of research-based empirical data and theory.
Learning methods and activities
Depending on which research project the students are attending it will be offered differents learning methods. For example, execution of experiments, the implementation of surveys and extended literature search.
Some project might be given in English.

- Oral presentation of the background to the problem in his own bachelor thesis
- Writing course

Previously approved mandatory assignments are approved for repeat of exam.

Admission to a programme of study is required:
Clinical Psychology Programme, 6 years (CPSY6)
Psychology (BPSY) - some programmes
Recommended previous knowledge
PSY2017 and PSY2018. See also required previous knowledge.
Required previous knowledge
PSY1010,PSY1011, PSY1012, PSY1013, PSY1014, PSY1015 and PSY1016, or eqivalent.
