About the course

Course content

The topic will focus on analyses, design and operation of thermal components and systems. Of importance is development and implementation of new technology for thermal processes onshore and offshore. Topics related to safety, economy, environment, operation, maintenance and legislation are included. National and international challenges related to thermal energy conservation and utilisation is highlighted. The topic will be closely linked to the ongoing research activities.
A detailed description of relevant topics is given at the Energy and Process department web pages, Thermal Energy group. Topics should be choosen in order to support the project work performed in TEP4515.

Learning outcome

Discussing and solving scientific and technical problems as well as formal reporting on achieved results within analyses, design and operation of thermal components and systems.

Learning methods and activities

The lectures and exercises are in English when students who do not speak Norwegian take the course.
