Teaching methods

The programme is available for on-campus students and as a distance learning opportunity (note: some attendance on campus is required of all students). It is mainly organized as a web-based, online programme. The teaching methods focus on student-centred learning via the Internet. The programme is delivered via an online learning-management platform with a focus on pedagogical methods that generate student activity, for instance through a virtual computer laboratory. The methods are primarily intended to provide students with individual learning, but also provide opportunities for peer interaction, and in particular highlight the link between theory and practice.

The Experience-based Master program in Information Security makes extensive use of flexible distance learning methods. All the study material of every course is available online for all students enrolled on the programme, via a learning-management platform. The teaching consists of the following components:

  • Lectures
  • Exercises
  • Seminars
  • Assignments
  • Project work
  • Essay/Article writing
  • Independent study
  • Lab exercises
