What do you do at work? What are your tasks?

Health research: applying for funding, applying health registries for data, seeking approvals from REK, physiological testing (CPET, Spirometry), venous blood sampling of study participants, preparing blood samples for analysis, establishing research protocols for RCTs, working with manuscripts for publishing etc.

What is the best thing about your job?

Variation of job tasks. Working with all kinds of people during data collection.

How did you get this job, and how was your job-seeking process and journey after graduating?

Through the study network.

How do you use skills and knowledge earned from your studies in your job?

I use relevant skills acquired during both my bachelor- and master's degree. Physiological exercise testing, reviewing current research, writing, presenting, statistical analysis, exercise programming, exercise supervision,

Did you work either part-time or voluntarily during your studies with something that are relevant for your job today? Did this help you during your job-seeking process after your studies?

I worked at hjemmetjenesten (elderly care), as a personal trainer at SIT trening, and as  aski jumping coach for young recruits in Trønderhopp. For sure, I would say these jobs helped me acquire relevant skills and experience that I make use of in my job today.

What is your best job/career advice for our current students?

Use the academic environment surrounding your studies. Choose a master's project that engages you, take initiative and show that you can work both independently and in a team to drive the project forward.
