Joint welcome event and Matriculation ceremony 11th August

Joint welcome event and Matriculation ceremony 11th August

Monday 11th August 

10.00 - 12.00:  Joint Welcome Ceremony for students from Sustainable Architecture, Architecture,  Physical Planning, and Real Estate and Facilities Management.

Where: Dokkhuset

Programme:

10:00-10:15: Artistic performance by student choir.
Speaker; Deputy Head of Education (IAP), Ingfrid Lyngstad.

10:15-10:30: Dean of the Faculty, Sara Brinch and head of departments at IAT and IAP welcome you!

10:30-11:45: Meet the program leaders!

  • Helge Hilnhütter, Physical Planning
  • Morten Gjerde, Real Estate and Facilities Management
  • Patricia Schneider-Marin, Sustainable Architecture
  • Gro Rødne, Architecture Program

10:45-11:00: Information about various events later on day 1 and day 2 for the study programmes

11:00 -12.00: Lunch and mingling inside/outside (weather dependent)

12:00-12:15: Representatives from the student associations (Norwegian: linjeforening) meet their students outside DOKKHUSET. The student associations accompany the students from here to the Matriculation ceremony at Campus Gløshaugen.


Matriculation ceremony – welcome ceremony for new students at NTNU

Time: 14:00:  

Location: Behind the main building 

You will participate in this formal ceremony together with your buddy group. The ceremony will include musical performances, speeches and you will get a glimpse into life as a student at NTNU.

10:00: Information meeting – the most important information about communication channels, deadlines, and processes at NTNU.  

11:00: Campustour, including ZEB Laboratory.  

12:30: Potluck – bring a dish from your home country 

14.00: Buddy week kick-off  


 Wednesday 13th August

Wood workshop intro course 

Where: Model workshop, directions here.

10:00 – 11:30: Group 1  

12:30 – 14:00: Group 2 


 Thursday 14th August   

10:30: The second-year students welcome the new Sustainable Architecture students with Brunch and Games in the sus.arc. studio. Find directions here.


Friday 15th August  

BBQ at International House at Gløshaugen.

Join Buddy week from 12th of August

Join Buddy week kick-off hosted by Studentersamfundet (Norwegian: Fadderuke) and get a social start of studies. All new students can participate.

Time: 14:00-17.00

Location: Elgeseter Park

During the Orientation week, you will get to know NTNU, your city and other international students in fun ways, and learn everything you need to know to get started in Norway and settle in at NTNU. The Office of International Relations arranges the orientation week.

NTNU has various part-time classes to help you learn Norwegian as a second language, including a free online course. 

Exchange students can join a 3-week intensive summer course.
