10.00 - 12.15: Joint Welcome Ceremony for students from the two-year study programmes Urban Planning, Real Estate Development and Management, Sustainable Architecture and the five-year Architecture programme.
Where: ØYSTEINSALEN, Erkebispegården, Trondheim
Programme:
10:00-10:15: Performance by the student choir. Masters of Ceremony: Vice dean for education IAP (Olav Kristoffersen) and IAT (Kine Angelo).
10:15-10:30: Dean of the AD Faculty Sara Brinch and Heads of Department at IAT (Daniel Johansen) and IAP (Stuart Dickson) welcome you.
10:30-11:45: Meet the program leaders!

12:00-12:15: Representatives from the student associations and study programs (for English speakers) meet their students outside in the Archbishop's Palace and take over for the trip on to Gløshaugen.

Matriculation ceremony – welcome ceremony for new students at NTNU
14:00: Matriculation ceremony for all new students at Frimerket
The ceremony will include musical performances, speeches and you will get a glimpse into life as a student at NTNU.

Where and when: Time and place will be annonced in July
On Tuesday, the Orientation Week continues with the Information Day, as we gather all new international students at campus Gløshaugen for a variety of information meetings and activities. Lunch will be provided, and you will receive your welcome bag from NTNU.

12:30: Potluck – bring a dish to share, a taste from your home country
14.00-16.00: Wood workshop course in 2 groups (13:00-14:00 / 14:00-15:00)

During the Orientation week, you will get to know NTNU, your city and other international students in fun ways, and learn everything you need to know to get started in Norway and settle in at NTNU. The Office of International Relations arranges the orientation week.

NTNU has various part-time classes to help you learn Norwegian as a second language, including a free online course.
Exchange students have the opportunity to take an intensive summer course from Monday, 3 August to Friday, 14 August. Registration is open from 16 June to 25 June 2026, and the exam is scheduled for 20 August 2026. Read more about the Norwegian summer course.
