Career opportunities

A master's degree in Marine Technology is a desirable competence for the maritime and shipping industries and academic institutions worldwide. Graduates from this study programme have found key positions in a wide range of areas such as maritime administration and classification societies, offshore, shipping and ship management companies, the Royal Norwegian Navy, maritime educational and research institutions, oil companies and consultancy services.

The increasing international focus on safe and efficient operations of ships and offshore units, harvesting of renewable energy from ocean resources, and fishing aquaculture, will increase the need for master's degree graduates in Marine Technology.

Numerous employers have recognized that our graduates’ skills are transferable to many career areas due to the combination of practical experience and theoretical knowledge at higher academic level.
