Welcome!

Welcome!

Welcome to the second FME BATTERY Academy, co-hosted by Norsk Industri, Battery Norway, FME BATTERY and the SALAMANDER Project.

We are excited to have you join us for this three-day event, where industry experts, researchers, and professionals will come together to discuss the latest advancements and trends in the battery industry. FME BATTERY Academy is open to all, both FME BATTERY members and external stakeholder. Throughout the academy, you will have the opportunity to engage in insightful presentations, hands-on lab courses, and interactive discussions. As part of the programme, the SALAMANDER Project will contribute dedicated sessions on self-healing battery materials, sensing technologies, and future battery monitoring concepts.

Day 1: A full-day seminar at NHO in Oslo, hosted by Norsk Industri. Here we will hear from the Norwegian battery industry, an update on recent trends in the market, perspectives from other FME centres as well as engaging discussions between the speakers. This day includes lunch sponsered by Norsk Industri, and will be wrapped up with nice mingling dinner in Oslo for those interested in more networking.

Day 2: Are you new in the field, or curious to learn more about modelling? Want to learning more about what goes on in a battery R&D lab, how we scale from coin cells to pouch cells at IFE or what is meant by a self-healing battery? Day 2 at IFE will give you hands on experience, from working in a glovebox and building a coin cell to lectures on self-healing by SALAMANDER.

Day 3: A full SALAMANDER Summer School Day at IFE including seminars and discussions on self-healing, open for all (like day 1 and 2), but with a single-focus on self-healing batteries.

To accommodate different levels of experience, the academy will include two parallel tracks: an introductory track for participants new to battery technologies, and a more advanced track with in-depth technical sessions for early-career researchers and industry participants.

We aim to foster collaboration and innovation, providing you with valuable knowledge and networking opportunities.
