Exchange students

NTNU has nearly 300 different cooperative or exchange agreements with institutions in 58 countries, from Albania to Zimbabwe. The university also participates in numerous student exchange and placement programmes, such as Erasmus, the Leonardo da Vinci programme, and NORDPLUS.

Exchange students who come to NTNU typically attend the university for short periods of 3 to12 months and return to their home university at the end of the exchange period.

Please note: Students in Architecture and Engineering must have studied 3 years at home (BACHELOR) prior to the arrival in Trondheim. In these subject areas we can not supervise any Bachelor thesis work and only courses of the master programme (year 4 and 5 can be offered in English) We expect that all students have a good command of English at an academic level.

If your university does not have a formal exchange agreement with NTNU, you may apply to study at NTNU for a maximum of one academic year as a free mover.
