Location of academic functions

Location of academic functions

Committee for location of academic functions

Mandate - revised March 2018:

The main task of the committee is to assess various alternatives for the location of the academic activities within the framework of the campus development project at NTNU.

The committee will provide input to the work on the physical plan. It will mainly advise on where academic activities and academic environments should be placed in a unified campus in Trondheim.

The Rector assumes that the committee will cooperate closely with the sub-project for mapping and concept development, and will take advantage of the information that the project’s working groups obtain.

The assessment work is divided into three phases, all of which will result in a sub-report:

  • Phase one - autumn 2017: Focus on principles and criteria for location of academic functions.
  • Phase two - spring 2018: The committee will analyse the framework conditions and propose the premises for physical planning.
  • Phase three - autumn 2018: The committee will propose concrete alternatives for the placement of academic activities and academic environments based on the physical level of the entire campus in Trondheim.

The committee reports to the Rector by 15 November 2017, 15 June and 15 December 2018.
