Background and activities

Roger A. Søraa is a Researcher at the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies of Culture (KULT), with a PhD in Studies of Technology and Society. His research focus is on automation, robotization, and digitalization of society – how humans and technology relate to each other. Søraa is especially interested in the social domestication of technology, see e.g. his research on hospital robots and gerontechnology of the home.

He's also affiliated with Department of Neuroscience, where he works on the project LIFEBOTS.

He's affiliated with RURALIS, where he researcher on SmaT – Smart technology for sustainable agriculture.
