Democratic citizenship education for newly arrived migrant students in adult education
In this project I investigate how newly arrived migrant students experience democratic citizenship education in adult education. Through qualitative in-depth interviews, I explore the students’ understanding of democracy and citizenship in the intersection between their prior experiences, diverse classrooms and social studies in a Norwegian context. The project contributes to expanding the knowledge base for democratic citizenship education that builds on a resource perspective on diversity.
