Modomics Analyses

Composite image illustrating RNA and DNA modomics analyses, featuring nucleic acid structures alongside LC-MS/MS spectra, chromatograms, quantitative plots, and heat maps used to identify and quantify nucleic acid modifications.

Samples

We analyze virtually any DNA or RNA sample, whether synthetic or biological, including material isolated from cell cultures or tissues from any organism. Samples can be provided either freeze-dried or in solution.

Wetlab Services

Isolation of RNA subtypes such as tRNA, 18S rRNA, or 28S rRNA using size-exclusion chromatography coupled to UV-assisted fraction collection.

Preparation of samples for LC-MS/MS analysis.

Analyses

Our LC-MS/MS-based analyses enable the precise identification and quantification of a wide range of DNA and RNA modifications, including:

  • DNA and RNA damage arising from alkylation, oxidation, or deamination
  • Cytostatic drug metabolites misincorporated into DNA and RNA
  • Epigenetic DNA modifications and demethylation intermediates
  • Epitranscriptomic RNA modifications

Practical Information

We encourage you to contact us at an early stage when planning your modomics analysis, even before applying for funding, if possible. We can help estimate the costs and provide guidance on how to incorporate the analyses into your funding application.

We can also advise on experimental design and sample preparation. It is particularly important to contact us before DNA or RNA isolation, as some modifications may require adjustments to the isolation protocol or buffer used.

Finally, we can assist with the interpretation and presentation of the collected data.
