Practical information

Practical information

Degrees and courses taught in English

We require all international students to have a good command of English at an academic level and you may need to provide TOEFL/IELTS test scores. Please read  NTNU's English requirements thoroughly  to see if you are eligible to apply.

Degrees taught in Norwegian

If  you wish to enrol in a degree taught in Norwegian, NTNU requires you to be proficient in English as well as Norwegian. Taking a norwegian language course while here is not sufficient to apply for a degree taught in norwegian.

NTNU's application deadlines vary depending on what kind of studies you're applying for, and where you're from.

Read more about application deadlines

All international students who are not citizens of EU/EEA/EFTA countries must be able to document that they have enough funding to live in Norway in order to be granted a student visa. Read more about documenting financing here.

Tuition fees will be charged starting 2023 for non EU/EEA/EFTA

Please note that the Norwegian government has proposed the introduction of tuition fees for students from outside the EU/EEA/EFTA, starting in the 2023 autumn semester.

We cannot yet say what the rates will be if tuition fees are introduced. More information will be posted if the change is approved by parliament.
