Programme the first week of studies, 10th-14th August

Programme the first week of studies, 10th-14th August

Monday, 11th August:

Welcome to the Art Academy (KiT) at NTNU

Time: 10:00-12:00

Location: Industribygget, rom 240

Joint gathering for new students at the Art Academy. Meet your fellow students and experience your first day as a student together with new friends. 
Department Head Jacob Jessen and staff at KiT welcome you. 
The student association KiT will introduce themselves and the program for the buddy weeks.

Time: 13.00-14.00

Walk from KiT (campus Solsiden) to the Gløshaugen campus together with the student association.

Time: 14.00-15:00 

Matriculation ceremony – welcome ceremony for new students at NTNU 

Location: Campus Gløshaugen, behind the main building.

You will participate in this formal ceremony together with your buddy group. The ceremony will include musical performances, speeches and you will get a glimpse into life as a student at NTNU.

Time: 18.00-23:00

Location: Campus Solsiden

Tuesday 11th August

Student Volunteer Day - The Student association at KiT (program will be handed out Monday)

Wednesday 12th August

Time: 09.00-10.30 

Introductions to KiT and key cards

Location: Art Academy Library, Campus Solsiden

Morning coffee with our librarian Gustav Svihus Borgersen and study advisors.
Tour of KiT, and assigned access cards and given access to studio areas

Time 13.00-15:00

Meeting with the course responsible.

Time 17:00-23:00: The Student association KiT: More information will follow.

Thursday 13th August

Time 09:00-11:00

Information about the study and questions to the academic advisors at KiT, Maria Aamand and Diana Lindbjerg.

Gallery visit with the KiT student association

Seminar – Title and program to be announced.

Join buddy week from 11th of August

Join Buddy week kick-off hosted by Studentersamfundet and get a social start of studies. All new students can participate.

Time: 14:00-17.00

During the Orientation week, you will get to know NTNU, your city and other international students in fun ways, and learn everything you need to know to get started in Norway and settle in at NTNU. The Office of International Relations arranges the orientation week.

Learn Norwegian

Learn Norwegian

NTNU has various part-time classes to help you learn Norwegian as a second language, including a free online course. 

Exchange students have the opportunity to take an intensive summer course from Monday, 3 August to Friday, 14 August. Registration is open from 16 June to 25 June 2026, and the exam is scheduled for 20 August 2026. Read more about the Norwegian summer course.
