Election

Election

Election of representatives for the extended leadership group meeting.

The election for the extended leader group takes place from 6-8 October 2025.


Permanent academic staff and technical and administrative staff are elected for four years, temporary academic staff for one year (i.e. until 31 July 2026). Eligible candidates must have at least a 50% position. Please note that those who are already a part of the leader group are not eligible. Please also remember the need for gender balance.  We need to elect:

 

  • Two representatives from permanent academic staff + three deputies
  • One representative from temporary academic staff + one deputy
  • One representative from technical and administrative staff + one deputy


Candidates who are willing to stand for election must get three eligible voters from the same voter group to submit their proposal. Proposals are sent bodil.wold@ntnu no later than on 20 September 25. Use this proposal form (only in Norwegian).

Management and governance

Management and governance at the institute

The Department of Electrical Energy has a leadership group led by the head of the department. The leadership group makes decisions within the area of authority delegated to the department.

 

The leadership group consists of the Head of Department, Deputy Heads, Group leaders, HSE manager, Head of Office, and management support. You can read about the responsibilities of the Head of department, Deputy Head, and Group leaders in 'Mandates for various roles at IEL'. The document is in Norwegian.

 

The following are typical issues that are raised in the management group:

• Strategy

• Annual plans and action plans

• Strategic personnel plans

• Internal distribution of allocation and budget

• Research initiatives and profile

• Course portfolio and study programme

• Study quality

• Internal organization

• Matters of fundamental importance

 

Extended leadership group

The extended leadership group is an advisory body for the Head of Department and the leadership group. The extended leadership group must meet at least twice a semester, and otherwise as needed. The meetings must be added to times that ensure participation from staff and students.

 

The extended leadership group is led by the Head of Department and consists of the Department's leadership group supplemented at least by:

• 2 elected representatives for permanent staff in teaching and research positions

• 1 elected representative for temporary employees in teaching and research positions

• 1 elected representative for technical-administrative employees

• 2 elected student representatives

 

The internal members are elected in accordance with NTNU's election regulations. The permanent employees are elected for 4 years, the student representatives and the temporary employees for one year.
