Hall Laboratory

Hall Laboratory

A 94 m deep test well has been drilled, and a work-platform for handling of well tubulars has been established in our test lab (Hall). The plan is to use the well in different research projects within drilling and production. The project has been carried out in cooperation with Department of Engineering Cybernetics at NTNU. A new test loop for testing of compact separator concepts has been established. It is possible to conduct multiphase flow studies in dedicated test sections, in particular related to water separation studies, to fluid transport during drilling and to transient flows . Further, the rig allows for testing of fluid displacement in subsea systems like manifold, jumpers and pumps.
