How does the interaction between humans, animals, and the environment contribute to good health or disease?

One Health is a holistic approach to achieving good health for people, animals, and the environment. It is based on the interaction and interdependence between humans, animals and the natural world around us. The importance of a balanced interaction is evident: Human activity affects the health of animals and the environment, and disease in animals and the environment affects human health. Healthy ecosystems are also particularly important for sustainable food production. By considering the global impact of these factors, we can contribute to the development of sustainable solutions that improve health outcomes worldwide.

One Health requires an interdisciplinary approach to understand health challenges broadly, as well as to find sustainable solutions to achieve good health for all. Knowledge development in this area is particularly important for preventing, anticipating, detecting, and responding to global health threats such as pandemics, climate change, and pollution.
