CoEASE – Consortium for European and African STEM Education

Mission

CoEASE’s mission is to foster equitable, collaborative, and innovative STEM education and research partnerships between Europe and Africa. Mutual capacity building characterizes the consortium’s contribution to the Joint Africa-EU strategic areas of cooperation, with a focus on priority areas put forward in the AU-EU innovation agenda (2023-2033) and the Global Gateway, with the overall outcome of strengthening the AU-EU knowledge triangle (Education-research- innovation). The consortium seeks to build human and institutional capacity through equitable, collaborative, and innovative STEM education and research partnerships between Europe and Africa, promoting collaborative research, pedagogical innovation, and capacity building through co-designed teaching resources, virtual and physical mobility, and pilot activities, empowering learners, educators, and institutions to co-create knowledge and research solutions to global challenges, drive sustainable development, and strengthen global scientific capacity.

Vision

Members envision a world where Europe and Africa collaboration in STEM education and research transforms societies, reduces inequalities, and unlocks the full potential of science, technology, and innovation for inclusive and sustainable development.
