Learning outcome
A. Knowledge:
1) To gain profound knowledge of communication technological solutions and methods within the chosen main profile and problem addressed.
2) In context of chosen problem, extended knowledge of the scientific and technological basis for the entire communication technology field.
3) Insight into how research results are generated and reported within the area of the problem addressed.
B. Skills:
1) At an advanced level, be able to conduct analysis, modeling, simulation and / or design based on knowledge of communication technological solutions and methods within the chosen main profile.
2) A critical and analytical attitude towards own and others work and results.
C. General competence:
1) To conduct a larger independent project work, including preparing a project plan with milestones and controlling progress, as well as written and oral reporting.
2) Retrieve knowledge through literature studies and other sources and combine this with knowledge and results from own research.
3) Understanding of scientific working methods, as well as gaining awareness of ethical issues in research and technology.
Learning methods and activities
Independent work with a research and/or advanced development focus. The student is responsible for the choice of methodology, technical approach, progress, etc. To support the work, tutoring is given. As a main rule, meetings between tutor and student should be held every week. The student prepares a draft agenda for these meetings. Meetings via telephone- or video-conference are acceptable. The responsible teacher (if different from tutor) should participate in these meetings at least once a month. Compulsory oral presentation of the master's thesis. It is also compulsory to attend the entire presentation day.

Communication Technology (MSTCNNS)
Communication Technology and Digital Security (MTKOM)
Security and Cloud Computing (MSSECCLO)
Recommended previous knowledge
All other courses completed. Not finished exam in one course is allowed, if this course is not important for the master's thesis chosen. Missing exams in more courses may be accepted after application, but more than two not finished exams (in non-central courses) are seldom accepted.
